“Joyful noises” fill the pages of Scripture. At the core of every worship service, surely we find music as a central element that undergirds us and lifts our hearts to God. Calder Baptist Church made a commitment to worship and music education from the earliest days of the congregation. We built the Sanctuary first, before any other building, in 1949. The Choir prepared music for that first service on Easter Sunday as workers finished installing the carpeting! We continue to offer music opportunities for all ages and skill levels. Come and be as “musical” as you want! Contact our Director of Music Ministry Chris Richter to learn more about the Music Ministry.
A marvelous pipe organ in the Sanctuary infuses our Sunday morning service with a traditional feel. We strive for a sense of relaxed reverence in worship. The Baldwin grand piano compliments the contribution of an organ each week. The periodic inclusion of brass, string, and wind instruments provides key moments of celebration and reflection.
During the seasons of Advent and Lent, seasonal sounds cascade down from the balcony in the Atrium each Sunday morning. Keyboard, vocal, and instrumental music offers those entering the building an immediate opportunity for worship. As we kneel in Bethlehem and journey to the Cross annually, music lights our way and guides our hearts. We warmly invite you to travel with us!
Vesper Services On random Sunday evenings during the year, we offer a Vesper Service in place of adult Seminars. We experience a less structured and more simplistic time of worship than on Sunday mornings.
