Hughes Memorial Organ
The Hughes Memorial Organ (Reuter Organ Company opus 1757) was installed in 1971 as a unit organ contained a single swell chamber.
Bequests from the Southwell family resulted in an addition completed by Texas organ builder Otto Hoffmann in 1989. The Southwell Addition included 2 new ranks (principal and flute) and moved the Great division to a location on the opposite side of the platform.
A subsequent expansion, a part of the original Hughes organ master plan, was completed in 2019 by Texas organ builder Paul Fort. This work relocated additional stops to the Great division with the 8’ principal being moved forward to create a beautiful new façade for the Great division. A new three-manual console was installed and has been prepared for a Positiv division.
The current organ includes 19 ranks situated across three divisions. The current stop list includes the following.
