Schedule and Programs

Typical Weekly Youth Calendar (September through May) 
 

Sunday 

  • 9:15 am Welcome (informal time for donuts, announcements, and fun activities)

  • 9:30 am Middle School (7th & 8th Grades) and High School (9th-12th Grades) Bible Study 

  • 10:30 am Worship

  • 5:15 pm Choir

  • 6:00 pm Snack Supper (provided by youth families)

  • 6:30 pm Youth Activities (varied format designed to stimulate spiritual growth and build relationships)


Wednesday 

  • 5:00 pm All-church Fellowship Supper

  • 6:00 pm Youth Building opens (ping pong, games, tutoring, socializing, etc.)

  • 6:30 - 7:45 pm Mid-Week Youth

  • 7:30 pm High School Group meets in homes of youth families (contact church office for this week's location)



Monthly 

  • At least one weekend a month, organize an extra event (concert, bowling, game night, etc.) to build friendships

  • Dutch treat lunch after church for youth families
     

School Year Highlights 

  • August Back-to-School Bash

  • September Resume Weekly Schedule and Small Groups (altered summer schedule)

  • World Vision's 30-Hour Famine (date varies)

  • October PumpkinFest (all-church family-friendly event)

  • November Fall Retreat at Pineywoods Encampment

  • Advent Season Special activities to observe Advent with intentionality

  • December Annual Progressive Dinner and White Elephant Gift Exchange

  • January MLK Weekend High School Beach Retreat

  • February Annual Potluck Luncheon and Dessert Auction on SuperBowl Sunday (fundraiser for mission trip)

  • March Spring Break Event (usually an abbreviated mission trip within Texas -- Arlington and Austin in past years)

  • Easter Season Special activites to observe Lent with intentionality

  • April Stress-buster Spring Retreat (a time for stillness amidst the demanding closure of the school year)

  • May Youth Sunday (a time of corporate worship completely crafted and led by youth)

  • May Graduate Recognition


Summer Highlights 

  • Southwest Baptist Youth Camp (Sunday-Friday, beginning the 2nd full week of June)

  • Passport (an experience combining the best of summer camp with the ministry of a mission trip) www.passportcamps.org

  • Vacation Bible School (youth serve in various areas of leadership)
